A Social Snapshot: An Magical May
With less than a month to go before the official start of summer, May is the perfect time to relax before the hectic summer months. This May, many of our talented customers have invested their time and energy into making their homes miraculous oases of style and sophistication. Eagle-eyed readers will have spotted that we covered the beauty of checks and stripes in an earlier blog this month so we thought what better than to show you some fantastic real world examples?
Our favourite social posts from May
Throughout May, we’ve seen a fantastic selection of trendy home images shared with us on Instagram. The use of colour with either checks or stripes has been truly inspirational and after a lot of deliberation, we’ve managed to pick our top three! You can learn more about checks and stripes in our Using Checks And Stripes In Interior Design blog.

Beautiful blues and greys
Our first port of call is with holly_homestyle! This beautiful bedroom is the perfect mix of colour, pattern and texture.
The core of the room is a soothing blue grey foundation. From the bottom of the bed, to the walls and even the radiator, this lovely grey tone provides the perfect springboard for the other elements of the room to really pop and maximise their potential. By also featuring plenty of white in the room, holly_homestyle has been able to provide points of interest that don’t detract from the finer details in the space.
At the walls, these details really come to life! On the wall itself is a delicate floral pattern that features a dark green colour with plenty of white space tying it to the bedding and the blind. This creates a feeling of unity and balance. Finishing off the look is the beautiful Roman blind covering the window and providing privacy. The blue synergises with the grey and the white ties in with the other white items. It’s a remarkably beautiful room!

Checks and balance
Second up in our list of marvellous posts from May is this remarkable photo from fromlondontomanchester! Featuring cosy yet refreshing colours, sleek lines and pops of colour, this is a sublime space.
The warm colours on the wall combined with the rich wooden panelling makes the space feel inviting and comfortable while the details contribute greatly to making the room homely and stylish. Perhaps most striking in the room is the gingham check Roman blind at the window. Checks such as these offer a touch of whimsy in a remarkably stylish way.
Balancing out all of these items is the beautiful framed art works which mirror the smart right angles of the checks and panelling. The inclusion of the flowers on the windowsill reminds us that adding nature into a room will always elevate its energy and style. Why not explore our extensive range of checked Roman blinds and see how they can refresh your home style.

Stylish stripes
Last but not least is this dynamic, elegant and homely snapshot from the_little_pink_nest!
This cosy, welcoming room celebrates colour, form and personal expression in such a way that the final result is truly remarkable.
Possibly the first thing you notice when looking at this room is the delicious peach coloured walls. This colour is often underappreciated in interior design but when used well – as is the case with this room – it emits a feeling of sophisticated elegance.
Contrasting with the colour is the chic curtain pelmet which not only adds a striking white detail to the aesthetic, but also soft wavy lines. These lines are mirrored in the extremely comfy looking sofa which is host to further beautiful colours and stripes.
Providing a fashionable counterbalance to these warmer colours is the blue grey curtain. The pencil stripe details are in a different scale to the sofa which adds depth to the space and avoids any clashes. It’s easily a 10/10 from us!
