As we prepare to bid farewell to the first third of 2024, it’s time to first pause and reflect on the beauty of April! While it may be wet and windy in the great outdoors, countless great indoors have been meticulously decorated and some beautiful images have been published on Instagram. During the past month we’ve enjoyed seeing some beautiful images on Instagram where talented customers have used our products to make truly amazing spaces – these are three of our favourites from April.

Our favourite social posts from April

In April, we’ve been very impressed with the quality of work countless customers have put into making their homes unique and beautiful. Additionally, we noticed that many of our customers have been adding curtains to their homes in myriad different styles so today, we’ll be looking at some of the best uses of curtains from the past four weeks!

Cool coloured curtains

To begin our celebration of curtains, let’s take a close look at this lovely room by @1930s_doer_upper. Firstly, this room makes excellent use of soft colours to make a nature inspired space that’s filled with energy and sophistication.

The use of neutral tones as a foundation that then uses green as a secondary colour with spots of rust oranges to add depth and warmth makes this room a feast for the eyes.

To help add definition, the very delicate use of black also works beautifully in this room. The lamps, picture frames and beautiful light fitting are all very angular which adds to the feeling of order this space enjoys, and contrasts with the softness of the pillows and the bedhead.

Giving a sense of movement and flow in the room, the curtain at the window contributes to the room feeling fresh and relaxing. The curtain also features dark vertical stripes which when drawn, helps unify the window with other angular design choices in the room. We absolutely love it!

Nurturing neutrals

This elegant, cosy room by @living_at_27 is a superb example of how elegant a space can be with a limited colour palette. The walls are a soft grey with contrasting white coving which helps bring structure and definition to the room’s decor. Contrasting from the other end of the colour spectrum and some beautiful black details too!

The slim profile shelving, the curtain tie backs and of course the lovely curtain pole add darker shades to the room’s design which further adds depth and contrast which is so important when opting for a more limited colour palette.

Taking centre stage in the image however is the sublime curtain covering the doors. While this curtain stays within the confines of the colour options, it adds beauty to the space with its soft texture. This is a great example of how using texture as a design element can stop a space from being bland or underwhelming. We think it’s absolutely lovely.

An explosion of colour

Last but not least is this energising, colourful and fashionable room from @kateshome_.

All rooms have the potential to be fun, engaging spaces but one of the best places to transform into a colourful sanctuary is your child’s room.

This delightful picture is an explosion of colour with uplifting shades of blue with white flowers on the walls, matching and contrasting coloured baskets beneath a fabulous selection of colourful spring outfits for the little one.

The room also has delicate touches that also contribute to the overall aesthetic. Take for instance the skirting board. Where most skirting boards are white, kateshome_ has painted hers pink. It’s a gentle shade but beautiful and refreshing nonetheless!

Finally, against the window is a spectacular floor length curtain. The contrasting rose and white colours add a whimsical touch to the decor, which is ideal for a little one’s space!
