As we move into February and the year gathers pace, we’re taking a moment to look back at the inspiring start to 2026. January brought plenty of fresh energy, and we’ve loved seeing how our wonderful customers have been refreshing their homes with Blinds Direct window furnishings. In today’s blog, we’re sharing some of our favourite posts we were tagged in last month – a little celebration of great style, creativity and homes made even more beautiful.

Our favourite social posts from January

Throughout January, we’ve seen many of our customers embrace the feeling of a fresh start, refreshing their homes with thoughtful updates that set the tone for the year ahead. As routines reset and the colder days linger, there’s a real desire to create spaces that feel comfortable, cosy and inviting. It’s been wonderful to see how the right choices can instantly elevate a room, adding warmth, personality and everyday comfort.

Harmony at home

Our first post this month comes from the talented @home_on_budget, who has given her entire home a stunning makeover with our Dalby Greige with Mist Tapes Wooden Venetian Blind. From the living room and bedroom to the bathroom and dining area, these made-to-measure blinds show just how transformative the right window dressing can be across every space in the home.

Crafted from 100% real wood and finished with coordinating tapes, these blinds strike the perfect balance between style and functionality. Offering complete light control and privacy, these blinds demonstrate how simple, thoughtfully chosen details can elevate a room, complementing the minimalist theme and neutral tones that run throughout her home.

As @home_on_budget describes it herself, opening the blinds each morning has become “a slow, grounding ritual, allowing natural light to gently move through the room,” perfectly capturing the feeling of comfort and quiet luxury that these blinds bring to her interiors.

The overall effect is a home that feels cohesive, refined, and thoughtfully considered, where every room benefits from the soft, natural glow of daylight and the intentional design touches that make a house feel like a sanctuary. From cosy mornings with a warm coffee to calm evenings, this reel beautifully shows how the right blinds can transform both style and mood throughout the home.

A serene sanctuary

Next up, we have this amazing space from @tessfwa.home, who has completed her guest room with the Lumiere Batik Roman Blind.

Featuring a unique print in gentle stripes of blue and red, this blind feels like it was made for this room, tying perfectly with the soft blue walls and enchanting bed cover. Every detail, from the picture frames to the steel chain controls of the blind, contributes to a space that feels cohesive, warm and inviting.

Beyond its style, each Roman blind from Blinds Direct comes with a free thermal blackout lining. This provides enhanced thermal efficiency as well as privacy, making it as practical as it is beautiful. As @tessfwa.home shares, this simple change “has made ALL the difference,” transforming a room into a dreamy, pulled-together retreat just in time for the lighter days ahead.

We love seeing how one well-chosen blind can elevate a space, combining comfort, charm, and functionality to create a bedroom that’s both stylish and welcoming. Explore our extensive range of striped Roman blinds now, and don’t forget that you can order up to 8 free fabric samples to see them up close.

Layering for luxury

Finally this month, we have this beautiful living room space, where @rubysowugc has chosen the gorgeous Opulence Pebble with Stealth Tapes Wooden Venetian Blind to frame her window.

Finished with coordinating tapes, the blind brings a refined sense of elegance to the room, instantly making the space feel calm, cohesive, and thoughtfully styled. This simple upgrade adds a premium touch that lends itself perfectly to cosy evenings and slow, peaceful mornings.

One of our favourite details is how effortlessly the wooden blind pairs with the delicate voile curtains also dressing the window. Layering window furnishings is a timeless and luxurious way to introduce depth, texture and character, and this combination showcases just how impactful it can be. Allowing just the right amount of light to filter through, the layers create beautiful golden glows as the sun rises and sets, casting a soft, magical ambience across the room.

The curtain pole above adds another layer of refined charm, enhancing the overall look without overpowering the space. Together, these carefully chosen elements demonstrate how mixing styles and finishes can completely transform a room, creating endless styling possibilities while maintaining a feeling of tranquillity, comfort, and effortless elegance.
