Our favourite social posts from December
December is a month full of festive preparations and getting our homes styled to welcome Santa on Christmas Eve. As many of us like to get our homes decorated at the start of December we have compiled four fabulous snaps from this month all featuring a festive display, from minimal charm to Christmas maximalism. We hope they help to increase the festive spirit within your homes this year. However, for those still in need of inspiration for how to create the perfect Christmas atmosphere, take a look at our Traditional or Contemporary Christmas blogs for tips!
A sophisticated space
Creating a sophisticated interior can be achieved via a range of techniques. Whether you like to keep your space neutral and elegant, or prefer to add minor details that enhance its charm, you can create a décor that’s both sophisticated and welcoming. Moreover, looking to timeless pieces and styles is a guaranteed way to curate a sophisticated décor. @chloerobertsinteriors has mastered this approach perfectly.
With strong use of neutral colours and textured fabrics, this space radiates a classic look with an added touch of warmth and comfort. Working in similar neutral shades, the natural curtains and armchair complement one another, adding a timeless, sophisticated finish of the room.
An extra detail we particularly adore about this space is the subtle pop of colour from the orange cushion. The muted tone adds an enticing pull to the space, complementing the warm glow of the Christmas candles. Small pops of warming colours can instantly refine the overall aesthetic and atmosphere of a space, making it more homely and comfortable. Festivity at its finest
Keeping with the Christmas displays, one image that caught our eye is this amazing space from @s_j_home!
Our first impression was ‘look at that tree!’ This image showcases a fabulous display of festive lights with fluffy stockings nestled underneath, we love it. Positioned in an open space, the minimal charm of the perfect fit Venetian blind helps keep the attention on the Christmas tree, while also complementing the light choice. Working with a white on white palette couldn’t be chicer!
The neutral colourway of this living room also works to frame the Christmas tree, making it the stand-out feature of the space.
Beyond the Christmas decorations, there are subtle nods within the space that work together to create an enticing and warming touch in the room. The warm toned throws and soft furnishings help to further nurture this look. The textured fabric of the sofa instantly brings a comforting touch to the space, and we’re sure that it will be the perfect place for enjoying a festive film and hot chocolate over the festive season.

A wintery scene
The Christmas display curated by @sherlocks_at_no26 also captured our imagination with its classy combination of texture and subtle colours, paired with seasonal decorations.
We particularly love the soft colour palette in this photo, from the boucle armchair to the neutral toned Roman blind. The combination of these two textures create a warming effect despite sticking to a soft, light colour palette!
The furnishings in this space have warming undertones to them, enhancing the overall cosy aesthetic of the room. A top tip, which @sherlocks_at_no26 has perfected, is to implement a Roman blind that spans the length of the windows within the alcove. This works at keeping the cold, grey look of the outdoors at bay, while also helping to make the space that bit warmer. Working in a warming colourway via a Roman blind or alternative window dressing will help elevate the warming touch and @sherlock_at_no26, has mastered this design tip!

A lustrous Christmas
An enjoyable aspect of Christmas is how it varies from person to person. Whether you like to be flamboyant with your decorations or prefer to approach it from a more minimalistic attitude, Christmas can be adapted to fit your unique style. In this blog we have covered statement trees to smaller additions, however there is something incredibly charming about this Christmas display from @14onthepark.
Working with more colourful tree decorations, from the glistening disco ball bauble to the multicoloured lights, has made this space eye-catching and extremely exciting.
As the space it is in has been decorated in a soft colour palette, consisting of pale grey–greens and cream tones, the colourful decor of the Christmas tree really helps it to stand out.
Adding to the minimalistic approach of this decor is the roller blinds. Often used in a minimal space, roller blinds are considered a more restrained form of window dressing compared to that of Roman blinds and curtains.
The roller blinds within this image complement the colour of the walls, and have a subtle warming undertone, making the space feel inviting. We also adore the addition of texture added through the throw and cushions to this space, as they bring a soft charm to the scheme.
