As the middle of 2023 fast approaches, it’s important that we pause and reflect on the past four weeks to showcase some of our favourite images shared with us on instagram! Grab a nice drink, get comfy and enjoy May’s social snapshot.

Our favourite social posts from May

Throughout May, we’ve seen a fantastic selection of trendy home images shared with us on Instagram. The use of colour, pattern and material has been truly inspirational and after a lot of deliberation, we’ve managed to pick our top three! Here they are…

A kinetic kitchen

Quite often, kitchens are decorated with muted colours which, while chic, doesn’t mean you can’t adopt a more colourful approach to the space.

For inspiration, look no further than this amazing kitchen by @lillyswatercolours! The soft yet bright and eye-catching blue cabinets and drawers provide an energetic and vibrant foundation from which she has been able to curate a really remarkable space. Helping the blue to pop are the stylish elegant white tiles, walls and white Venetian blind in the window’s recess.

This combination of striking white and blue makes the kitchen feel open and fresh, while the other shades add depth and contrast. The beautiful wooden countertops partnered with the golden tap, floral handles and patterned floor tiles adds a warm finish to the space making it the perfect environment for relaxing and hosting guests alike.

The rug is another fantastic addition, bringing further colour and form to the space which is mostly block colours. It’s really a breathtaking room.

A becalming bathroom

Bathrooms are a core part of the home. Bathrooms help us unwind and relax after a long day, so getting their design and feel on point is of paramount importance.

The bathroom we saw on Edwardian_property_parade’s instagram profile really impressed us as it’s chic while promoting peace and mindfulness. This bathroom makes fantastic use of a monochrome foundation with the black towel dryer, picture frame and pattern found in the floor tiles.

By keeping to a limited core colour palette as a basis, @edwardian_property_parade has then been able to introduce some interesting shapes and colours. The use of natural plants, and the soft green they add, alongside the classic artwork and the colourful roller blind has managed to create a bathroom that’s fashionable in a timelessly beautiful way.

We love the roller blind used in this bathroom. Roller blinds offer a great range of benefits and when you pick a waterproof fabric, you can use them in the bathroom too. The combination of irregular shapes and bright colours also softly enriches the overall effect – it’s a 10/10 from us!

A breathtaking bedroom

Finding the right balance between function and style is paramount in any bedroom, but even more so when it comes to children’s rooms.

Sleep is very important to little ones and by implementing such great use of cosy yet calming colours, @ourhome.ourhouse has been able to design a room that’s perfect for their child.

Soft, neutral hues are excellent colours for bedrooms as they make us feel at home and comfortable without being overly stimulated. Contrasting the neutral shades with related tones found in the cute bunnies, roller blind and clothes pegs; alongside the rich deep brown of the wonderful giant teddy, provides depth in the room, making it feel warmer and larger.

Finally, we particularly love the layered window approach. Layering windows adds to the overall cosy aesthetic while introducing further practical benefits. Since light is one of the greatest negative impacts on sleep, reducing it to a minimum is very important. By having a roller blind and Venetian blind in the recess, much of the external light will be reduced and sleep promoted. It’s really fantastic!
