Best toddler room colours

One of the first things to consider when decorating your toddler’s room is colour. Colour can make or break any room in the home, but when it’s specially for your toddler’s room, it’s even more important to find the right colour palettes.

Colour combinations for a toddler rooms

There are of course the well documented uses of blue and pink, but there are a great variety of shades that are just as idyllic for toddlers’ bedrooms. While black and white interior design is perfect for babies, once your child’s eyesight has developed, you can use these colours to great effect!

Different shades of green

Take for example shades of pale green. Green is a great relaxing colour which is soothing and peaceful. Soft green tones are perfect for toddler rooms, but so too are shades of purple. Lavender in particular is a fantastic option when decorating a toddler’s room because it’s warm and comforting without being overly stimulating.

Whichever colour you pick, finding a soft, pale shade of the colour will add the perfect finish for your toddler to grow in. Yellows, warm greys and cream tones are also strong contenders!

The perfect patterns for toddlers

Colour isn’t the be-all and end-all when it comes to designing a toddler’s room, there is a lot of fun to be had with patterns.

Stripes, spots and classics

Popular patterns naturally include stripes, spots and other classic designs, however, you can introduce a fun finish to your toddler’s room with specially designed kids’ fabrics.

From captivating space inspired patterns to dinosaur and windmill designs, there are some easy steps you can make in your decorating process to enrich your little one’s imagination.

Kids design challenge

Last year, we held our inaugural Kids Design Challenge where we invited children between the ages of five and ten to create a magical monster. The top five budding designers then saw their creatures appear in a range of unique monster mash Roman blinds, curtains, lamp shades and cushions

The Kids Design Challenge will be returning in 2023 so keep an eye out for more information on the website in the coming weeks.
