Social media, who doesn’t love it? From personal accounts and small businesses to big bands and international organisations, there aren’t many who don’t have an online presence. One thing which we love is scrolling through the Blinds Direct Instagram page every day and seeing what interior décor creations our talented customers come up with!

5 of our favourites

Today we are going to be looking at five social snaps from the last few months and discussing our favourite aspects to them! However, believe us when we say that narrowing down the selection to these five was very challenging indeed! So, let’s get started…

Sage green kitchens

@homeatno_9 is an Instagram account that really caught our eye! The use of panelling throughout the home adds a beautiful contemporary touch to the space.

What we adore about this home is the sage green kitchen! The soft, delicate tone compliments many colour palettes while bringing in a soft, burst of colour. The contrast between the white surfaces and sage green woodwork really makes the space pop, creating a fresh, clean feeling in the home.

The incorporation of the subtle floral print Roman blind helps to bring depth and texture to the space, along with the wicker style bar stools! Roman blinds are a great choice of blind for adding softness and detail to a room. Select a blackout lining to add insulating properties, which in the summer, will absorb the sun’s rays, keeping your home cool. In the winter the same lining will prevent cold air seeping in and warm air from escaping. What’s not to love about a Roman blind?

A modern cosy space

Living rooms are a space in the home where relaxation is a key consideration! Moreover, they are also the room where socialising occurs frequently, from hosting drinks parties, to having a friend round for a cuppa. Making sure the space is adequate for both aspects is vital, and we think @welcometoplot146 has captured both qualities perfectly!

The modern aesthetic and contemporary lighting in this space create a fun ambiance to the room making it perfect for hosting. All the while, the large sofas and styling pieces bring a comforting touch to the toom – perfect for snuggling up to read a book or watch a film!

We particularly love the layering of the white wooden Venetian blind and curtains. Layering window dressings is an aspect that can instantly add a cosy feeling to the space. The use of Venetian blinds allows you to protect your privacy and have full control over the lighting, while the curtains bring in a soft, warming aspect to the space.

A simple colour palette

@homeofgeorgiax is the queen of an uncluttered colour palette, her Instagram focuses on a grey and white colourway and we think it is fair to say that she has mastered it! She brings depth into the space through the use of textures, just look at the chunky knit blanket on her incredibly plush bed!

Another way in which Georgia has brought in texture to the space is through the use of a wooden Venetian blind. Although it is white, the texture within the grain brings in an essence of nature, while the tapes will bring in a contrasting texture – as they say, it is the little things in life that make it worthwhile and the same applies to décor. Attention to detail is vital and can really make or break the space.

We can imagine that keeping a space like this pristine no doubt has it challenges, but don’t worry, wooden Venetian blinds are simple to care for and having scuff free, clean blinds can help keep the space feeling new! Minimalism at its finest

Minimalism is an interior design style that is increasingly popular. Whether you have a small space you want to keep clutter free, or a larger room you want to make to feel limitless like @lorisarah_home, it is a design trend that enriches many spaces.

To achieve a minimalist décor, you need to focus on the styling. There is a fine line between a minimal look and a space feeling bare.

Adding dark pieces of furniture can help the room feel inviting, and Lori has used a black pendant light, a black frame mirror and a black table to add depth to the space – with implementations of black trimmings on the cushions too. This creates a space of softness and luxury.

With a room of this size, large windows are inevitable so dressing them correctly is important! Lori has used cream roller blinds to dress her windows as they will keep the room feeling fresh and lifted, while adding great practical qualities.

A crisp clean kitchen

Kitchens are the beating heart of the home. They are spaces where we make nourishing meals, relax with family, and sometimes make a mess with cake mixtures or sauces!

That said, @claytoncorner has some fabulous styling aspects to help disguise some of the everyday life torments. Her choice of a monochrome patterned splash back will help disguise any food splashes from being visible until they can be cleaned up. All the surfaces have some form of styling on them, therefore preventing any paper piles or clutter building up. Everything in this kitchen looks perfectly planned!

The use of roller blinds in a kitchen is a wonderful way of adding a colour or pattern into the space with the addition of practical qualities, including blackout. While @claytoncorner has kept to a monochrome palette and used white roller blinds, the beneficial qualities they have are unmatched.

Some of the features available for a roller blind include hygienic, easy wipe and moisture proof – these make them the perfect option for a kitchen!
